12/26/2007: "GopBias.Org Blog"
*Prologue. The tenor of Washington. All of the networks, NBC, ABC, CBS etc. - and radio segments as well - reported that when they asked Joe Lieberman why he endorsed John McCain, it was "because none of the Democrats asked me", and all the reports let that stand. In fact, Gwen Ifill on her Washington Week even found a color videotape item that showed Lieberman saying same on camera. She's funded by Boeing and the National Mining Association, so that's not a surprise. Actually, from wire reports available to all those "news" outlets, that response was not the whole story. A Lieberman adviser said the senator decided to back McCain, despite McCain being a Republican, because he believes his colleague from Arizona "has the best chance of uniting the country in its fight against Islamic terrorism". - from 12/17/07 wire reports.
"To the Editor: Re 'Reid's Chilly Relationship With Bush Enters a Deep Freeze' (news article, Dec. 19):
I, too, struggle to control the feelings of contempt and fury evoked by an administration that is so demonstrably unethical, duplicitous and uninterested in adhering to the strictures laid out in our Constitution.
That Senator Harry Reid rages against the terrible machine that is the Bush administration should hardly be cause for surprise. That so many Americans still don't rage, should.

Welcome! This site is now the new home of the Republican Bias in the Media Blog in color! Selective information currently housed at gopbias.com is now being transferred regularly to this blog at gopbias.org. For more in-depth detail click on www.gopbias.com. However, this new edition of .org features a scathing analysis of this bogus Bush/Rice/Olmert process to create an equitable framework for an Israeli-Palestinian peace. A typical Israeli move to sabotage any hope of peace, as reported by Amy Goodman's 12/11/07 DemocracyNow: "Dozens of Israeli tanks and armored vehicles backed by attack aircraft have invaded the Gaza Strip in the largest Israeli military operation in the area in months. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports Israeli forces have killed at least eight Palestinians. The Israeli raid comes a day before Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Ehud Olmert hold their first set of talks since the Annapolis summit."
[[In future edits we'll conform to protocol, i.e. submit a 2nd article with an apology. The reproducible facts are undeniable - the Bush/Cheney administration and the Republican Party, and their enablers on the airways and cable and in the print media, are the most criminal political cabal since the Civil War. It is a national disgrace that the Media/Press is not overflowing with condemnation of these confederates. The recent revelation that Alberto R. Gonzales, David S. Addington, John V. Bellinger III and Harriet E. Miers were involved in the destruction of CIA video tapes of torture - and that the former White House press secretary Scott McClellan has admitted to lying when he exonerated Karl Rove, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney and President George Walker Bush in the Valerie Plame leak - these revelations should be numero uno across the country!!]]
"How good a case does Mr. Podheretz make for his hardline views in this volume? Instead of trying to produce a reasoned argument for a forward-leaning foreign policy, he has served up a hectoring often illogical screed based on cherry-picked facts and blustering assertions (often made without any supporting evidence), a book that furiously hurls accusations of cowardice, anti-Americanism and sheer venality at any and all opponents of the Bush doctrine (designed for Israel), be they on the right or the left."
But the Bush administration is not satisfied with the rhetoric of Messrs. Podhoretz and Lieberman. Bush/Cheney like the content [Pohoretz was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom June '03 (William Safir aka Safire received his December '06)], but not the sound...
"Mother Jones magazine is reporting a hawkish advocacy group connected to the White House has hired a Virginia company to begin test-marketing language that could be used to sell a war with Iran. The group Freedom's Watch first made headlines this summer when it launched a $15 million ad campaign in support of the surge of American troops in Iraq. The group's leadership includes former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer and Bradley Blakeman, a former deputy assistant to President Bush. Freedom Group recently hired the company Martin Focus Groups in Alexandria, Virginia. One participant who was paid to be part of a focus group told Mother Jones: The whole basis of the whole thing was, 'we're going to go into Iran and what do we have to do to get you guys to go along with it.'" [The four preceding paragraphs outline the scope of the furtive expropriation of American foreign policy over this last decade (including the election of George Walker Bush) for the benefit of Israel, to the detriment of the United States. From the step-by-step fabrication of the WMD threat posed by Saddam Hussein, to today's alarmist rhetoric by the Bush administration as to the danger posed by Iran, it is clear that our country has been held hostage by some Jewish Americans (aka "Progressives") in and out of government determined to squander the resources of the United States to further the interests of Israel. Preceded by Israeli Prime Minister Olmert's 12/23/07 address to his Cabinet that "there is no other way to describe what is happening in the Gaza Strip except as (our) true war between the Israeli army and terrorist elements", on 12/26/07 Egypt announced that following their opposition to the Israeli enlargement of disputed East Jerusalem Israeli settlements [Olmert's government is also increasing the Jewish population of West Bank "settlements" (these are towns unto themselves ON PALESTINIAN LANDS)] George Walker Bush is reducing funds to Egypt, US funds that were designed to encourage Egypt to support Bush's "Road Map" (actually a hasty revision designed for a Bush "legacy"), and are funds which had to be matched by additional funds to Israel (essentially, another payoff - and for what?) ABOVE AND BEYOND THE $3-$4 BILLION PER YEAR we already provide!
It has been a conspiracy unprecedented in American history, and may well continue through our election of 2008.]
"A dean at Harvard University and a professor at the University of Chicago are coming under intense criticism for publishing an academic critique of the pro-Israeli lobby in Washington. THE PAPER CHARGES THAT THE UNITED STATES HAS WILLINGLY SET ASIDE ITS OWN SECURITY AND THAT OF MANY OF ITS ALLIES IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF ISRAEL.
In addition the study accuses the pro-Israeli lobby, particularly AIPAC - the American Israel Public Affairs Committee - of manipulating the U.S. media, policing academia and silencing critics of Israel by labelling them as anti-Semitic. The study also examines the role played by pro-Israeli neo-conservatives in the lead-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
The authors of the study, Stephen Walt, a dean at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and John Mearsheimer of University of Chicago are now themselves being accused of anti-Semitism. In Washington, Democratic Congressman Eliot Engel of New York described the professors as 'dishonest so-called intellectuals' and 'anti-Semites.' Harvard professor, Ruth Wisse, called for the paper to be withdrawn. Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz described the study as trash that could have been written by Neo-Nazi David Duke. The New York Sun reported Harvard has received several calls from 'pro-Israel donors' expressing concern about the paper.
Harvard has already taken steps to distance itself from the report. Earlier this week it removed the logo of the Kennedy School of Government from the paper and added a new disclaimer to the study. The 81-page report was originally published on Harvard's website and an edited version appeared in the London Review of Books. The controversy comes less than a year after Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz attempted to block the publication of Norman Finkelstein's book 'Beyond Chutzpah: On The Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History.'" - DemocracyNow 3/34/06
